Dr. Arturo Delgado has been in the education field for over twenty-nine years, beginning his teaching career in the San Gabriel Valley as a bilingual teacher in the Baldwin Park and Rowland Unified School Districts. After serving as an Administrative Intern for the Rowland Unified School District and vice principal for the Norwalk/La Mirada Unified School Districts, he then moved to the Azusa Unified School District where he served as an elementary school principal for more than eight years. During that time, Delgado was successful in implementing many innovative programs that were later recognized by the State of California through the Distinguished Schools program.
In 1999, after a nation-wide search, Delgado was appointed to the Superintendent’s position for the San Bernardino City Unified School District where he served until his appointment as Superintendent of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE). He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies and his Master of Arts degree in educational administration at the California State University, Los Angeles. Dr. Delgado then completed his doctoral degree in Educational Administration from the University of La Verne in 1995.
