LACEF works with Leadership for Education Equity as a host for the Policy and Advocacy Summer Fellowship. LACEF provides a unique perspective that provides both a practical and professional development experience combined with project based opportunities that will advance LACEF’s strategic mission, specifically the fellow will support current policy vehicles relating to School Health Centers and School Discipline, enhance research capacity and knowledge of academic impact of School Based Health Centers and other initiatives, and network with leaders, experts, and policy makers in California.
Fellows are recent Teach For America alumni or 2nd year corps members with an interest in transitioning from the classroom into policy or advocacy work within the next 1-2 years, or pursuing this type of work from the classroom. Fellows have a unique perspective on the education system based on their experience in classroom and are prepared to take on substantive projects with their host organization, including policy research & analysis, policy implementation, community or issue advocacy, coalition-building, etc.

Leadership for Educational Equity is a leadership development organization focused on developing its members’ leadership potential and inspiring members to become more civically engaged. Leadership for Educational Equity understands the transformational social change we aspire toward requires significant leadership and civic engagement across multiple dimensions over a sustained period of time; we hope to be one source of citizens and leaders committed to ensuring that all children in this nation have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
